Climate Café

Join us for our next Climate Café on Tuesday 4th June as we explore the topic of “Community Growing”.

ACA’s free hybrid June climate café is a partnership with CFINE, and will cover Community Growing. The format is slightly different to usual cafes. We will have three 10 minute talks, then invite anyone to give a two to three minute talk about their community growing project before an organised discussion.

Part 1: Three 10 minute talks

  1. Rebecca Dunn or Lucy Edwards will introduce CFINE’s project work on community growing
  2. Joan Lawrie from Highlands and Island Climate Hub (Thurso) will tell us about their work (which has strong focus on community growing)
  3. Bob Pringle (ACA) will highlight some of the agricultural/horticultural problems associated with community growing (pests and diseases)

Part 2: Audience contribution

We will hear from any member of the audience (in person or online) about their community growing project.

Part 3: Discussion

We will have a structured discussion to cover two subject:

  1. What are the main barriers to successful community gardening?
  2. How can we build a stronger network that supports community gardening projects?
